Empty Forest

Winds howl, thunder cracks,
Hair whipped
Clothes drenched
Anger pulsing
Mist chokes breath
Rain pounds leaves
Shelter shaking, breaking
Thunder raging, heart racing
I scamper to the open
Wanting to be cleansed
Drops streak skin
Tears fill eyes
Hair laces back
Dirt tingles toes
It stops
All stops
No more sound
No more tears
No more rain
Just the empty forest
And the footprints of a girl

The End
