Embrace

I dreamt of you last night,

When the moon was out,

And the streets were filled with noise.

I lay curled in my bed,

And somehow you came,

Invading my mind with your touch.

I saw you were alone,

I reached out to you,

And you turned with a smile.

I spent a night within your arms,

Warm, safe and wanted,

Nothing more than words passed.

I could have dreamt you all night,

I could have stayed in safety,

In the love of your embrace.

But the sun came to wake me,

It shone through the blind,

Leaving me empty in the absence of your love.

The End
