Eagle's Claw

It's all about how little things can suddenly make someone's life fall apart, how fickle lady luck can be

The scissors cutting at the remnants of what’s left

Another broken soul victim of a theft

An example of what’s malevolent and bereft

Heart’s stolen away, now there’s nothing left

Awoken by the touch of the night

Forgetting all that’s gone before

You thought you had the game pinned down

But now you’re not so sure

These images of me

The shadows the haunt me

The darkness I failed to see

Rises up to consume me

This is what remains of my smile

Nothing left of my health but death

Haemorrhaging and hyperventilating out

The darkness steals my breath

My voice stolen by eagle’s claws

There’s nothing I can do at all

My character a shadow of what it was

My heart rendered into pieces by an unknown cause

These images of me

The shadows the haunt me

The darkness I failed to see

Rises up to consume me

If you could’ve seen

The remains of me

If you could’ve heard

The echoes of my voice

Scattered amongst the dirt

The End
