Down to a Box

A poem about moving on after heartbreak

All our memories
            Down to a box
            The pictures, the clothes
            the love and the pain

The presents that made me smile
Now only can make me cry
            If I could’ve, I would’ve
Stuck my heart in for awhile

My brain is trapped with thoughts
            Mostly of you
            My heart beat for you,
Has now only made me blue

I couldn’t look anymore
            Couldn’t take being reminded
Of the love that we had
            Now being refined

Put a lock on my heart now
            Threw away the key
            Finally accepting
There’s no more you and me

The End
