Don't Cry My Friend

This was written for a friend, who was sitting on my floor, crying. She wouldn't let me touch her, so I opened up my laptop and started writing. I placed it in front of her when I was done, and she smiled really wide, pulling me into her arms for a hug.

You were there right from the start,
You made me smile,
You made me laugh.

I treasured the days we were together,
And hated when we were apart,
Best friends we had become.

But now that I see you here,
And hat scared look on your face,
I'm trying hard,
To be strong.

We have always been there for each other,
Even when we fight,
We make up soon enough.

My hands are unsure,
Of what they should do,
So they write you this poem.
Telling you this.

You are a great friend,
Yes, you really are,
I ask why you're crying,
But you only cry some more.

So I ask to please,
Tell me what's wrong,
My friend,
You are important to me.

I love you like a best friend should,
And I worry,
I fret.
I shake.

Please my friend,
Wipe the tears from your eyes,
For your friend is here,
And she Will never leave your side.

The End
