In Hiding

Hiding in the shadows of ambiguity,
losing myself in the pools of thought.
My mind, my fort, in shambles.
Walking through the ruins, nostalgic.

Averting my face from my life,
trying to forget I'm anywhere.
Sick of dealing with everything.
Letting numbness flood through.

Hollow vowels flow past my ears,
images flashing before my eyes,
The world, my world, disintegrating,
declining into discord for lack of effort.

This blanket of unawareness
wearing thin, light and muffled sounds,
piercing my safe darkness,
showing up my decayed mentality

The End
