Darkness And Light

I will keep on in the darkness,
I will search for hidden light,
And if they ever find me,
It won’t be in the night.
For I’ll be walking in the daytime,
I’ll have made it to the end,
And when I get there, when I am,
I’ll think of you, my friend.

But if you cannot find me,
If you think I’m not around,
Then just follow that dark music,
At the dances I’ll be found.
For they’ve caught me in their webs,
Oh these spiders of desire,
And no matter how I struggle
Of this game they never tire.

When at last all is darkness,
I will find that final light,
And they will never find me,
For they look in the night.
I will be walking in the daytime,
I will have made it to the end,
And when I’m there, when I am,
I’ll think of you, my friend.

Don't you let them take me,
Never left me just give in,
For I’ve another heartbeat,
Despite my blackest sin.
I've still got time to live again,
I’ve still a debt to pay,
And you know she’d want me to,
You know just what she’d say.

Though she is in the darkness,
She’s on the edge of light,
And if they never find me
It’s because she took their night.
I’ll be walking in her glory,
When at last I’m at the end,
And I’ll look back when I am,
I’ll think of you, my friend.

The End
