Darkness

Darkness seems to fill my heart,
When I stand from the world apart,
My eyes sting, threatened by tears,
When my soul is overtaken by a million fears,

My mind stands still unable to move,
As doubt’s hand falls on my shoulder cool,
And as I shudder, shiver and shake,
From this hellish nightmare I wish I’d wake,

And silence falls all around,
Not a single squeal, scream or sound,
My head in hand, in a corner I sit,
Letting all the darkness in,

And as the tears fall in my palms,
Someone kind will come around,
And in their arms I'll finally be,
And darkness will finally retreat.

The End
