Dancing with the Dog
When you're all alone and you're feeling blue,
In an empty house, what is there to do?
You could raid the fridge or watch bad TV,
Get a hairbrush and sing along to 'Glee',
You could have a bath, or make your own bread,
But there's something else you must do instead,
Yes, it's that much fun, there's no-one around,
And it cheers you up when you're feeling down
Dancing with the dog,
Hand in paw you glide,
Shame poor Fido can't or won't
Do the cha-cha slide,
Put on Jazz FM,
Who says dogs can't groove?
Try it now! For twice the fun
Your cat can join in too!
Yes we humans know dogs are quadrupeds,
Who weren't built to stand on their own two legs,
So we help them out, lend a helping paw,
And guide them away from that hardwood floor,
Yes we know it's wrong, but just where's the harm?
Fido always smiles and he has no qualms,
If he did then he would have long since budged,
So, you see, you can't be so quick to judge
Dancing with the dog,
Hand in paw you glide,
Shame on all those people who
Are so quick to deride,
Fido's having fun,
Likes to dance no end,
Back and forth he trots with me
Truly man's best friend
