Crisp Night

Crisp Night/  by Eitan Schulman

All sleep while I pry my way out of the house

Into the loving darkness I go.

Like a city of refuge, it takes me in, no questions asked

No judge, no witnesses, no grand jury.

Just the wind, the stars and the cold, cold air.

My loving friends oh how I missed you so.

What splendid stories, adventures and takes do you have?

The stars twinkle back to me like jumping kids

The clouds drift about like old men

The trees sway here and thro telling of battles and wars

And the ground, with all the patience in the world listens to my troubles.

Oh my friends of nature, so glad to be together once again

See you tomorrow, can’t wait till then.

The End
