Cold Coffee

©1995 Nick Robinson (FTH Ch 4, pg 46)

Last night I missed you

But don’t feel bad for what you had to do

I wouldn’t make you drink

Cold coffee to make you think

That waiting on my beck and call

Is something I’d expect from you at all

It’s not the kind of man I am

To expect you to jump at my command

So don’t swallow your pride for me

And don’t change your life just to be

A puppet on my hand

I love you just the way you are

And your love’s the best love ive found, by far

So I can wait another day

If it needs to be that way

The End
