Into the war

Into the war those brave men go,
all happy and ready are they,
but once that war claims their life,
happy is not what they be.

into the war even more men go,
just look,
you see,
all of those people,
that have friends in life,
their friends will have one less,
and that man will have no more,
so when you go,
into that war,
you had better hope well,
that you are at the back of the fore,
along with the generals and all.

For those officers are cowardly men,
you think thy would know,
about what happens out there,
so that his men don’t fall like snow.
