20. Carriage Clock

The gold clock on the hall table,

Was my grandmother’s once?

I’m unsure of why they call it

A carriage-clock

These little gold spheres

Spin around so smoothly,

A horizontal pendulum,

Dancing in perfect rhythm,

In perfect step,

It spins, turns smoothly,

Whirs, so swiftly it spins, and…

*click*

ding

How prettily it counts the hour!

This gold clock,

This spinning clock…

The End
