City on the edge of forever

Love that episode

Its strangely compelling, isn’t it
to lose oneself in another time
to indulge in events pristine
before forces human could undermine

The grandeur of dead civilizations
to revel in each new discovery
watch humanity struggle along the way
be saddened by our many atrocities

Could we perhaps offer assistance
Could we perhaps offer advise?
Could we be tempted to alter the past
even though it leads to our demise?

Its strangely compelling, isn’t it
If indeed there are such possibilities
an existence based on a point in time
or wiped away almost instantly

The End
