Circumspect

So now I am in a new land

I see what I did not see

and I view the wide horizon...

where once the cold, white hills

stood guardians over the frost-ridden land

and the pale sun flickered benignly...

now warm from wandering

I stand in the cool air

blushing my hands and face...

as I stepped back from you

all fear and anger melted silently

like the numbing ice flowing...

so the angry polar bear

dangerously encircling

has become the prey's friend...

and what I am now I am for you

The End
