Children Dream of Puppet Shows

Children dream of puppet shows,

Of escaping reality

If only for a little while,

Of ignoring the pressures

Of learning to read

And add numbers together

Which just don't seem to belong.

They dream of being in control

In a world where they

Are so often told "no",

And so many questions

Are left unanswered.

They yearn for the opportunity

To create something of their own,

To bring their wild imaginations

Right before their eyes.

Children dream of puppet shows,

For puppets seem the only things

That dream of children too.

The End
