Chances In The Dawn

It's about being a braver person (or at least trying to) and being able to overcome fear

You speak to me with words designed to confuse

And there's no reaction but indifference

It's a game all of us were born to lose

Defined by mistakes, hoping for deliverance

I could play the strongman

I could've been the hero of the story

But the truth is darker than the stories

I'm covered in dirt, not even an ounce of glory

Well in time they shall realise

I'm not even close to a demise

There's another chance in the dawn

Turn away and run, are we kings or pawns

There's another chance in the dawn

Another hope to kill before it's born

You argue with phrases rigged in your favour

I've guessed your outcome before it appears

I've always pushed myself to be braver

Only for you to shatter me through my fears

You will come to see that in time

Only I can plan my demise

There’s another chance in the dawn

Turn away and run, are we kings or pawns

There’s another chance in the dawn

Another hope to kill before it’s born

I will be a king someday

The emperor of my own fears and loathings

At last, the king of my home

Before old fears cause me to roam

There’s another chance in the dawn

Turn away and run, are we kings or pawns

There’s another chance in the dawn

Another hope to kill before it’s born

The End
