Caught Between a Memory and a Heartache

Took the long road out of this town
and I couldn’t stop thinking about you
How you pushed me aside
and you only came when you needed me

I’ll go where I am not needed
because I don’t plan to return
Since when are the forgotten
ever allowed some peace of mind?

But I’m caught between a memory
and a heartache

I will drown these damned memories
and fog the night of any responsibilities
What came first? Your love or your hate?
oh well... it makes no difference to me

I’d do anything just to let go
it’s the dread that gets to me most
Plus, I haven’t woken to a morning
just the wasted afternoon I am acquainted

And I’m caught between a memory
and a heartache

The End
