Cast A LightMature

It's about trying to justify your actions to people who can make you feel foolish, as if your reasons are falling on deaf ears

Texts of memories and excuses implanted deep inside

But we begin to stumble when challenged

Powers to disarm, powers to charm

Suddenly my reasons sound like fairytales

Even to myself

I came here today to justify

I left today never knowing why

Carry on and rebuild

Because nothing will ever be fulfilled

Because we only ever feel afraid

To cast a light, bear our shames

Unstable and unwilling to compromise

Harsh words demean me for comfort

Powers to disarm, powers to alarm

Suddenly my reasons are bullshit to you

And even more rotten to me

Because we only ever feel afraid

To cast our light, bear our shames

I'm ready to fall

But the tears will never stop

It's easy to claim you've fallen

When you never reached the top

The End
