Butterfly Effect

I like the way the butterflies take flight when i say your name-
But i hate the way they can never reach their home in your heart,

So I smile, my eyes alight with the love in my heart,
but lately the tears glitter bright like the diamond stars,

And my cheeks are flushed red from the blush that creeps slow,
either from embarrassment or adoration.

My heart sewn onto my sleeve, bloodied and broken,
all for the man who can't see my vulnerabilities-

He makes me whole, and tears me down,
with a single word,

wings beating loud.

The End
