Long Story Short

The Short Version

I have something to tell you

I'm not going to beat about the bush here

Or make some long speech

I'm just going to say it.

There will be no sugar coating

I'll just tell it to you straight

In my own words

I'm just going to say it.

I wouldn't tell you over the phone

Or in a letter

Or send some cryptic code

I'm just going to say it.

There's no point wasting time

Dodging about the subject

Or playing 'Twenty Questions'

I'm just going to say it.

I won't translate it to Japanese

Or get a mime to tell you

I won't break out into musical verse

I'm just going to say it.

I won't make mountains out of mole hills

Or cause a huge to-do

There won't be a riot

I'm just going to say it.

The long and short of it is,

Without making a big deal

Or blowing it out of the water...

I love you.

The End
