Building Blocks

Recommend

The toddler who played with building blocks

Til the age of fifteen

Built the hightest tower you've ever seen.

And such was her fortress as they threw rocks.

Hidden from the world

Was what appeared to be an intelligent little girl.

Average proportions magnified to exceptionality,

False talents branded,

For nothing else seemed worthy of being granted.

So letters and numbers extinguished personality

Til she learned to live.

At the bottom of that tower, something's ready to give.
