Memories Fly Faster Than Time

Oh, memories fly faster than time,
Catch a dove and it feels so sublime.
Let’s fly together one last time,
Pinch pennies and be rich in dimes.
Let’s drown in all the crimes
That make us human slime,
And try harder next time.

Aha, you were never alive,
Smiling politely at your grave,
It’s got a nice inscription, I say,
I’m thinking I want one like that on mine, too.

The first time we talked about death,
Remember? You laughed as I cried inside,
I couldn’t think of you leaving me all alone,
So I wanted to die first;
So I’d never have to face the world without you by my side too.

It’s so funny the way,
Oh the way,
I always believed in God,
And you never did, always saying,
‘If he does exist, then I’m going to hell,
and if he doesn’t, then this is the end.
Either way I’m never seeing you again if I die tonight.’

If I ever fall in love again,
It’s going to be the other way around,
Ah, I don’t believe anymore, you’d be proud.

Oh, memories fly faster than time,
Catch a dove and it feels so sublime.
Let’s fly together one last time,
Pinch pennies and be rich in dimes.
Let’s drown in all the crimes
That make us human slime,
We didn’t try hard enough this time.

The only thread has broken,
Done so slowly and almost in a poetic way.
Let me breathe in the world slowly and deeply,
And hunt it over twice, thrice, as many times it takes,
To find you again, to know you again, to learn you in a way
That I never, ever, forget you or lose you again.

I want to be torn apart on the outside,
Even if it’s just a fraction compared to how I am on the inside,
The pain is so real it’s unreal.
I need to bleed just to make sure I’m alive,
Still alive.

Where are you?
I’m looking for you,
You said that if anyone could escape death,
It’d be you,
You’d come back for me
Because I was a part of you and your soul was not whole without me.
The angels must be turning into demons,
I’m waiting and hating, where are you?

Maybe I just do believe a little.
Because I’d bleed myself dry for you,
And I’ll go to hell if you’ll be there.

Oh, memories fly faster than time,
Catch a dove and it feels so sublime.
Let’s fly together one last time,
Pinch pennies and be rich in dimes.
Let’s drown in all the crimes
That make us human slime.
Anything for a next time.

The End
