LiveMature

we want
to live
our lives
like "carpe diem"
Jumping fences
crashing into
the floor
calling names
like crashing cymbals
we want
to believe
in something
whatever
calls
our names
loud
as the sun
hearing music
like hands
out of windows
bodies
out of sunroofs
standing
in the bed
of a truck
going 80
through a tunnel
no perks
of blending in
just swearing
up and down
this?
this
is my crew.
No
black
and white
world-
a city
in rainbows
casting
shattered
lights
and glass
into walls
and streets-
corruption
Freedom
screaming
for our souls-
it soars
through our blood
it sings
through our veins,
names
like jumbled letters
scrambled
through our bones
God
do we know
who we are?
Barely
But the edge
of knowing
who
we want to be
who
we're meant to be
it's right there
at our fingertips
we need time
to collect
our pieces
wander
the Earth
to truly know
who we are
because
we're never ready
but we know
with each other
we know it all
we'll conquer it all
it's in our hands
for the making
the taking
nothing matters
quite yet
we're still learning
only time
can tell
where we'll go
and who
we will be
we will find out
together
hear us out
and lean in close
the only ones
on this path
can tell you
everything
whether
through wheels
or words
or metal
or math
we all
have stories
lingering
in every piece
of our souls
search
for the pieces
we'll get there
not today
not tomorrow
years
from now
we'll know
and you will too

The End
