Blue

Break downs seem so distant in her eyes
give me some resolution so I can sleep tonight
You were always the sunshine in my maelstrom
a friend on the lonely day, a platonic soul

I’ll gather the white roses under the red skies
Tomorrow’s gonna be something different
I just can’t describe but somehow you sum it up
with the faintest sarcasm I have somewhat envied

I’d give her the skies
of the greyest depression
and she said
She’d paint it blue
I’d give her the skies
that culminate my life
and she said
she’d paint it blue

Yeah the evenings are getting longer
but so are the Mondays of our ill-gotten fates
It is nothing that we can’t handle
so make me laugh with your sweetness

I heard it was going to rain this weekend
you shook your head and said it’s okay
Nothing can keep me home yeah,
got to try and live for a while

I’d give her the skies
of the greyest depression
and she said
she’d paint it blue
I’d give her the skies
that culminate my life
and she said
she’d paint it blue

You were always so quiet
I could have talked the entire time
You were always so understanding
we bared our souls for each other

The End
