Birthdays

A commemoration to a friend's birthday, even if it is a day late.

A day among days that one should be proud
though you may not say it aloud
I sure will reveal.

Some years ago today,
someone brightened our days
with a joy that seemed unreal.

I sit and often think of the 'what if's.
If our lives had never become adrift.
If our lives never passed by.

I shun the thoughts from my mind,
and think thoughts of a sweeter kind.
The thought's of you and I.

Which brings me to this day so dear
that I wish for everyone to hear
why it is I sing it clear.

On this day I wear my Rue
for that day I hold so true
because I love you.

The End
