Bird of Prey (cont.)

Its talons tighten on its perch

while the winter weather toys with its feathers.

so simple

so certain

its life seems.

Does it have dreams?

Does it have a favorite season?

Does it have another reason

to fly

than food?

It leaves its old perch in search of prey,

its silent wings dark as night

spread wide across a sky of white,

trusting the wind to take it away.

The End
