Bird of Prey

I sat one afternoon journaling in my leather notebook, when a hawk glided to a tree very near me. I watched him for nearly fifteen minutes, gliding from tree to tree. A pleasure to witness.

silent wings dark as night sweep   a   c   r   o   s   s

                                                              a sky as white as

                                                              the snow below,

                                                              to an old tree for a new perch,

                                                              to continue its endless search.
