Beyond The World

It's about your troubles keeping you from sleeping, it's about worries, fears and doubts

The hours are falling by the wayside

The day drained me of strength

The canvas turns to stars

Here I remain, weary in the half-light

Trying to dream of a twilight

Legs buckle underneath me

But I could never collapse past this world

She dreams so peacefully next to me

If only I could be the same

I can't recall the last time I fell away

Fell into the ease of dreaming, when vision turns grey

I tried to follow her to the dark but here I remain

Staring at the ceiling, halfway between peace and pain

Sat in zombie fashion, glued to the screen

The buzz of electricity and whir of noise

And as the rush outside accelerates

All sense of peace and rest, shattered and destroyed

I can't recall the last time I fell away

Fell into the ease of dreaming, when vision turns grey

I tried to follow her to the dark but here I remain

Staring at the ceiling, halfway between peace and pain

If only the beasts of my burdens disperse

And turn my racing heart to coldest stone

If only I could close my eyes

If only my demons came and went with the light

I can't recall the last time I fell away

Fell into the ease of dreaming, when vision turns grey

I tried to follow her to the dark but here I remain

Staring at the ceiling, halfway between peace and pain

The End
