Before The Gold Rush
I never found what I was looking for
because this town has been mined
of the one treasure I could call my own
What I want will soon pass me by
in the dusty remains of a past
where I always belonged
Before the Gold Rush
I was someone else
Someone different
After the Gold Rush
I was cheapened by
what I desired
All the rubies and emeralds I never found
All the diamonds and pearls I couldn’t steal
kept their benefactors joyous for life
I needed a piece of Heaven
in the finest of Gold
so I can united in the eyes of God
