Beauty is but fleeting
But then isn't so fame
Both can beget recognition
both could also bring shame

And in both are lifetimes spent
the passion can be so unrelenting
but once the pinnacle is reached
what drives you now is sustaining

Both can provide elevation
But in a heartbeat one could descend
into the cold depths of history
with a memory then one must contend

With both are much monies spent
in the hopes of attracting more
but more than the fortune spent
is perhaps the transition into folklore

Would you kill for beauty?
Would you kill for fame?
knowing both are but fleeting
yet we are compelled to attain

The End
