Be My Strength

Be my strength
When the cold, asp-like fog coils around me
When inch by inch the horizon disappears
When I can no longer see the shining light

Be my strength
When hope is not an answer but a question
When I cannot see which ways are left to go
When I am choking on all the murkiness

Be my strength
Until I can blow away the fog; see sun
Until the ghostly asp ceases strangling and
Until my breaths return and turn with great ease

Be my strength
Until once more I can find my way back home
Until kindled am I by your kindred heart
Until I have the strength to thank you my dear

For being my strength.
