Baseball

A little poem I wrote about my favorite sport. Mind you, it's the first time I've ever really tried writing a poem so I know it's not great. But I'd love to hear feedback if you have any!

Baseballby Matt Hamilton

You walk down the tunnel with your Dad, eager to see the field

You get to the end and see it, the moment is surreal.

The fresh cut grass under a clear summer night

The lights in the stadium making it shine so bright.

You find your seat as the game begins

And the two teams collide; only one will win

But you see, this is the beauty of the game, the game that I love

This is baseball, the game with a bat and a glove

The game goes on and the excitement builds

The game is tied in the 9th, oh what a thrill!

The star comes to the plate with his bat in hand

Hoping it will be he, who makes the game grand

The pitcher hurls the ball, the batter takes his stand

And hits it out of the park, all is well in America’s heartland

You see this is the beauty of the game, the game that I love

This is baseball, a game for  all

The End
