And so she walked...

And so she walked out of my life
without so much as a backward glance
desperately hoping she would stay
But ah, the futility of such romance

We had our many differences
But then we're also kindred souls
for love competing with one another
often times so out of control

They say only opposites attract
But what about people so alike
Eventually what brought us closer
was the very thing we now disliked

Familiarity breedeth much contempt
and that was how t'was with us
With that in mind we separated
before our association became a curse

Wistfully I saw her walk away
with a twinge of regret
knowing that she felt the same
a love that we won’t forget

The End
