The Dragonfly

The transparent wings of the dragonfly,

Beating fast over the rippling lake,

Yet another mirror through the blue sky,

Fragile wings must stay careful not to break,

Humming quietly in the red sunset,

Humming over vast quantities of land,

Watching, thinking- Dragonfly- have we met?

Those who try to kill you, I’ll take a stand,

They have no idea of all the beauty,

Of colourful bodies, and mirrored wings,

I’ll save your kind; it will be my duty,

Take shelter, I will save your slender limbs,

I can see the dragonfly’s reflection,

In water, flying, I see… affection.

The End
