Amongst The Fallen
Should I fight those from all corners
Or should I sprawl back to my safe haven
I knew I never belonged here
I knew the truth was darker than I could bear
Living in a life devoid of being fair
I'm in a state of denial
Banging fists against the cage, riled
I'm living amongst the fallen
And though I was never the first
My heart beats, echoing an eternal hurt
Where is my sense of courage
Turning my head only to see reasons to fall
Brace myself, getting ready to sprawl
My doubt is alive and ready to go
Because I have suffered more than you could know
I'm in a state of denial
Banging fists against the cage, riled
I'm living amongst the fallen
And though I was never the first
My heart beats, echoing an eternal hurt
A hurricane approaches, the tide is on it's way
The whirlpool begins to spin, enduring the pain
It hurts more than you could ever know
I soared higher than I could ever know
I'm living amongst the fallen
And though I was never the first
My heart beats, echoing an eternal hurt
