Always Backwards

But I love you all the same

I feel a little backwards

I'm still so very grateful

For I may never truly forgive you

Sometimes I hated it, some things don't change

While I didn't always appreciate it

Even when you really weren't

You were always there

They changed me, helped me grow

Good and bad, the gifts you gave

Without what you've done

I wouldn't be the same

I am thankful for your help

Before I leave, I just have to tell you

I just have to say
