Solar Flare

While the sky was painted grey

By darkening clouds of pain

A veil across my eyes

Blocking my light with its lies

There was no life to be seen

No happiness for me

Darkness infused with my mind

Leaving me lost and blind

But then I felt a change

The wind began to stir

Fresh air filled my lungs

A crack in the sky appeared...

The trees around were dead

Leaves oon the ground like lead

Grass swamped by muddy rain

The once-bright flowers steeped in pain

The birds and insects yearned to fly

But when they tried they’d fall to die

No-one dared to hope or dream

No stars above were ever seen

But then a flash of light

Streaked across the sky

Broke through the clouds, lifted the veil

I knew just what this was

It was a

Solar flare heading straight for my heart

A fire was lit inside my soul

A solar flare blazing through my mind

And vanquishing the darkest night

Solar flare heading straight for my heart

A fire was lit inside my soul

A solar flare blazing through my mind

And vanquishing the darkest night

When I saw your face

As I heard the news today

I knew just what this meant

A light sparked from you into me

It was a

Solar flare heading straight for my heart

A fire was lit inside my soul

A solar flare blazing through my mind

And vanquishing the darkest night

A solar flare, I’ve never felt this way

And it seems to lift me off the ground

A solar flare, and I’m racing through the sky

I’m heading right for those bright and shiny stars

I was just about to drown

When you reached out for my hand

Now I feel like I’m about to fly

There’s no clouds in my way

The End
