Demons

Oh, silly, impossible girl

Unwake your head

Shut down for a night

Dismantle your moral calculator.

Oh, puddle of subtleties

No one hears you. Or

It’s loose gibberish. Or

They’ve all got headphones on.

Insolent girl

Who sold a viaduct

Made of steel

For the brittle laugh of a frame.

Some arms you have.

Powerful as the lift of finger-

Some eye. Some sharp tongue

(dull as an envelope opener).

Waddle, now, like Day One.

The End
