After all they're only dreams

After all they are only dreams
And they can be quite scary
conjuring up the fantastical
or sometimes quite the ordinary

But T ‘is the way the mind works
in creative ways it solves
an empire built while you slumber
that in a moment’s notice dissolves

Sometimes they touch a raw nerve
dredge events painful from the past
sometimes they heighten the mood
upon waking you'd wish they last

But after all they're only dreams
purpose, well who could explain
a feature of a higher mind perhaps
but strangely they keep you sane.

The End
