Sleeping pills. Gotta love them.

Impossible to save the self

From cascading into the black

Darkness swallows the mind whole

Within the place where life does lack

No way here, so no way back

Collapsing into painless rest

Fields as white as December snow

Sky grey as the concrete walls

The secrets that no man can know

Wither in silence, and then go

The pit like pitch from pole to pole

The treacle fire clinging to the skin

Entices into dreamless, peaceful rest

Rest from worlds without and worlds within

Rest from the raucous holler and the din

Destruction of the self

Beneath the pale October moon

Cold, dark and calm

Welcome so soon.

The End
