A vow to myself

I wrote this a while back as a motivation to myself.

We are drawn to the comfort of the familiar.

We seek a solace that cancels fear which we find only in people near.

I am a diamond, crystal clear,

I am not invisible, though so it may appear.

I am a rarity, found in rough.

The world cuts and cleans me which can be tough.

While others flock, I stand alone,

But I am never on my own.

The world breaks down to elemental chaos.

Building groups to block out the unknown.

But I will stand away from it, I will stand alone.

I vow to be myself only

Even if such paths be very lonely.

The End
