A Race Against Time

A Villanelle

The clock always goes tick tock,

No matter how fast you try to run,

You can't stop Time's knock.

When you are young you never stop the constant walk,

Keep chasing the nothing and care for none,

The clock always goes tick tock.

Your vision is clear, your eyes are like a hawk's,

Don't care about the future, just want to have fun,

You can't stop Time's knock.

But now my body starts to mock,

My knees are weak, my strength is gone,

The clock always goes tick tock.

What a fool I've been, walking the wrong walk,

A life full of nothing, and now nothing can be done,

You can't stop Time's knock.

Now it's too late, I was beaten by the clock,

You remember- live life to the fullest son,

The clock always goes tick tock,

You can't stop Time's knock.

The End
