The Reply to Her Lifesong That Filled The Void

Barely at home in her room

Barely alone in her head

Attention sought by family tonight

She’s got a pure heart but request denied!

The dreamer sees her at ease with the facts presented as such

A little tear upon that cheek. Perhaps she asked for too much.

The passionate sigh of regret lights up her mind

As she sings her sorrow life songs

Hoping one will be kind

“This is all I have to give

This is all I crave

Sorrow and despair

Makes me beg for better days.”

Her hair falls across her face

As her eyes try to show a measure of her disgrace

Barely at home in her room

Barely alone in her head

Attention sought by family tonight

She’s got a pure heart but request denied!

This tainted saint in the cathedral

Singing her sorrowful life songs

As they drop from her mouth

Emotions plop on the floor like blood and disguised matter

Her heart rending services never rendered

“I am of darkness and coming undone by sin

The creature left for other kin crawls in

Torn by the path trodden by others left bare

The road is long, the pain is raw

Others have left me. but not before laying down the law

I’ve seen people like you stop and stare

I deserve nothing

Let me lie here!

But now you’ve decided

You’re different than the rest.

Haha you jest!”

All that great soul needs, she hides

Left to God where all her hope resides

Tainted Saint she may be, but her heart will lead

As it lies in prayer on a angelwing!

A song of her is a symphony

A verse is in me that she hears indeed

And this leads her back to peace

All that great soul decaying and slowly separating

Smiling, a frown upside down, till the mask comes off again

What is left for encore is the same old fairy tale reborn

A doubted destiny

Sung in silence

All that great soul needs, she hides

Left to God where all her hope resides

Tainted Saint she may be, but her heart will lead

As it lies in prayer on a angelwing!

So I replied

“Oh sweet tainted soul

Share with me your lifesong

For I know now, I’m a servant of something higher

A knight placed in this silent expected position

I’m but a lover who failed to see the beauty in every dying rose

A lost child who needs the courage to carry on with God’s work in tow”

And unknowingly, I carved a new page in her destiny

The End
