Against the Stone

Recommend

A hidden reality,
lush,
ornate,
my vision fills
with the green hue
reflected from leaves
that brush
against my skin
like emerald feathers
from the sky.
Fragrant and sweet
lilac, apple and yew
pulling close around us,
a calm
pale mist,
stealing us away
from worlds abandoned
as we heed the call
of a force
unyielding, unseen
calling us here.
Against the Stone,
so reverently adorned with heather
and sweet apple blossom,
our warm hands
lay clasped,
one over one,
grasping,
yearning
to feel the energy
lying within.
Energies ebbing,
dancing to and from,
in circles spiraling
from the heart.
The sounds
of our ancestors,
strong,
bold,
fills our opened hearts,
the sound
of the earth's pulse
drumming,
beating
in our attuned minds.
Fingers weightless,
alive,
trembling
against the Stone,
a stalwart keeper
of the sacred Heartbeat.
