A Night Of Wolves

A little poetic take on this summers riots in England, sorry if its a bit late

Summer heat scorching, and the tension begins to rise

The city is empty, the souls long gone and we’ll take a ride

Since the unexplained loss from London echoes, turning ugly

The city is the playground of anger unfurled, of malice unleashed

The shouts of sinister defiance and the cause is now lost

And only now can we begin to consider the true cost

Protest turns to a bloodlust, whipped into frenzy by feral mobs

And through the second city, we will break, smash and rob

And for a night, the world returned to the wolves

Smash and grab and devour society

And for a night, the world returned to the wolves

Smash, grab and devour everything

Destroy it all

Did they do enough, did they do too much

Did we deliver a fatal blow or show them love

The flames of London and rage of the north

The instincts of a few now a thunderstorm

Journalists and ministers align together to condemn

There was still hope in the cleansing, hope again

A loss of control and the mourning of a country

The city was theirs for a day, destroyed utterly

And for a night, the world returned to the wolves

Smash and grab and devour society

And for a night, the world returned to the wolves

Smash, grab and devour everything

Destroy it all

The End
