A Mirage
Darkness precedes me as a reputation
A mirage of combat as a shield in which I prey
In my home I hoped to be saved
I hope to find a depth for salvation
I refuse to give up the ghost
See through the veil and love me please
I wish to rest my head in your home
And feel the warmth and love of the host
Sinking deeper
I can feel the festering of scars
Love unrequited is left to ruin
It could be so much more
So much more than a mirage
Love’s all smoke and mirrors babe
But I’m condemned without you either way
Love’s all smoke and mirrors babe
But everything within me is broken babe
Living in a haze of blue, see through me
I’ll try again and leave it all to hope
Love gives me nothing but a rope
Come on baby try again, I beg you to see
I’m starting to give up the ghost
Darkness falls and I’m quick to anger
Set fire to the walls of your home
Now feel the warmth and love of your host
Love’s all smoke and mirrors babe
But I’m condemned without you either way
Love’s all smoke and mirrors babe
But everything within me is broken babe
Love’s all smoke and mirrors babe
But I’m condemned without you either way
Love’s all smoke and mirrors babe
But everything within me is broken babe
