A Hundred Shades in Between
Black,
Ebony skin sparkling under the studio lights-
Perfect shot.
Black,
Blindfolded in an enemy territory-
Trapped; nowhere to go.
Brown,
Chocolate icing on the cake,
Perfect recipe.
Brown,
Quicksand overpowering your struggle to escape,
Last gasp of breath.
Red,
Love: that feeling when everything else is a blur.
Seventh Heaven.
Red,
Blood strewn streets after a mob riot-
Snap back to reality.
yellow,
Blossoming of flowers, the smell of happiness;
Spring fever.
Yellow,
Bedridden; Pale- drained of health and consciousness,
Last stage of cancer.
Pink,
A new born child's first cry,
Innocence in its truest form.
Pink,
The look of the Ice Queen-
Arrogance epitomised.
Blue,
Calm, endless stretch with no creases,
Californian sky.
Blue,
Nothing turns out the way its supposed to:
Peak of frustration.
Green,
Jersey cows grazing on Alpine meadows,
Picture perfect.
Green,
The emotion that lashes out the beast in man-
Jealousy.
Grey,
Cobbled streets winding through a Roman village,
Old age charm.
Grey,
Stormy petulance of the sea; the lashing of waves-
A ship of peril.
White,
Unstained and unmarked by the violence on earth.
The colour of Peace.
White,
The crematorium: Lifeless under the shroud.
The End.
Life,
Full of contrasts-
Black, White and a Hundred shades in between.
-Iskra.
