A Heavenly Funeral

A delibaratley misleading title! This poem is another of my attempts to be a little romantic :)

Can you imagine a heavenly funeral?

As the angelic chorus falls silent.

The gold shimmers with a crying glint;

Pearls scatter beneath solemn trumpets.

God would do the eulogy,

Paying tributes to the perfections he gave,

They shall be missed by all the angels

But they’ve gone to a better place.

Imagine a spirit falling through the sky,

Sunlight shines upon their face

Streaming through the clouds.

Could one ever describe the sky’s beauty?

But my Angel’s face gleams brighter,

Brighter than any sunrise.

This moment of my life is perfect.

Tears of joy run down my face;

Nothing I shall ever gaze upon

Can replace my angels’ beauty.

No heavenly chorus they shall sing again

But the music rings loud in them forever.

A halo no longer around their head

But it is in our hearts forever.

Can you imagine a heavenly funeral?

As the angelic chorus falls silent.

The gold shimmers with a crying glint;

Pearls scatter beneath solemn trumpets.

But there must be a funeral,

Up above in the skies,

For in my arms lies my babe-

An angel fallen from heaven.

The End
