A Further Stage.
Two characters initiated the ceremony
Informal greetings
Followed by an ellipse
It developed from there
Conversing simply as friends
To one another
The grey border
Now clearly defined
I want to be simply the
Superlative of true friends.
Not for an ulterior motive
For past wishes and desires
But of true, heartbreaking
Mends to forget your history
You loved her
It was mutual
But time continued on
Cracks formed
Sense kicked in
It was leading nowhere
Although admitting to being melancholic,
I must say
That however painful,
I must move on.
We can only be friends.
